Ellie Lumsden has been painting for as long as she can remember. A multidisciplinary artist and designer, she explores a wide range of creative outlets while championing sustainability. A self-described hoarder of throwaway items, Ellie transforms discarded materials into cherished creations. Her artwork reflects a deep commitment to reducing environmental impact, with paintings crafted on preloved canvases or handmade surfaces from upcycled tablecloths. Reusing materials is always her starting point, allowing ideas to evolve organically from there.
Originally from Perthshire, Scotland, Ellie is now a newcomer to Canada. She works at a Nature School, teaching and supporting preschool-aged children, including those with diverse needs, through hands-on learning in natural settings. With several years of experience working with young children, Ellie is passionate about fostering creativity and dreams of combining her love of art and teaching by offering workshops that nurture the imaginations of kids from all backgrounds.
Ellie exhibited her work in May 2022 at Open Studios Aberfeldy and has been an active freelance illustrator for several years, collaborating with small businesses and creating personal projects for clients.
